Kitchen renovation project:

Dominique, our client who works in her family business of window dressing named Dastex in Quebec City, which recently celebrated its 25 years of experience, wanted to renovate her kitchen. She is a woman filled with joy, who loves to share beauty, kindness and family values. She loves making cakes and cupcakes as a hobby.

Our designers at Atelier C3 Design were inspired by Dominique to create the kitchen of her dreams. She had two dreams to achieve for this room: a pink kitchen with a black and white checkered floor.

She lives in a beautiful area of the city of Quebec, Montcalm, which has a classic and warm charm like their small family. Our starting point for the design was the architecture of the building, a townhouse with lots of moldings and classic charm.

With a very limited and linear space, we took inspiration from Europe to maximize space and define style. Dominique loves to cook, so we offered a lot of storage and an island in 110-inch Dekton. We have created a functional pantry section and an aesthetic only part. In a space where every square foot counts, we have integrated a pantry into the bedroom furniture, so as not to encroach on the circulation in the kitchen. We designed custom furniture in the bedroom to visually harmonize everything.

Obviously, we wanted to put this idea forward, that’s why we used a touch of color that leaves everyone speechless: WOW. The pink SW 6582 by Sherwin Williams on cherry cabinets brings a lot of personality to the kitchen. We accentuated the pink with a very light blue SW 6497 to highlight this magnificent color.

We also took advantage of his checkerboard request to recall a beautiful retro touch with the chosen colors, the floor and the lighting. The little golden touch adds a lot of charm and class to the whole.

Two questions that everyone is asking themselves: “Even her husband said yes to pink?” Certainly, he likes pink, and their two children love their new kitchen! “They won’t get tired of pink?” If so, the cabinets are wooden and can be reworked over time. Sherwin-Williams offers quality products that allow to repaint cabinets if the customers wish.
