“Initially, the clients gave us some instructions,” says Matthieu Boulianne, president of Atelier C3 Design. No addition of black, the doors and windows are already this shade, and a wow effect in each room.” As soon as you cross the threshold, you understand that the challenge has been met. Thanks to the huge windows that flood the space with natural light, the magic happens. Faithful to Japandi, light shades are in the spotlight, as much in the choice of materials as in that of materials. To enhance the decor, a magnificent staircase with central silt (brown, not black) sits in the foreground, while the large curtain at the back creates an enveloping effect. “It was a great challenge for Dastex to install it!” says the designer.
The result of careful consideration, this show now fulfills its promise: gather guests around a central foyer with a unique design. The latter is based on a custom table (the same brown as the fireplace) designed by Atelier C3 Design. To complete this Japandi atmosphere, a minimalist maple Concerto wall unit dialogues with the oak floor, dyed in the same essence. From this room, you have access to the outdoor terrace with an in-ground pool. The living room also communicates with an office area.
This triptych, which can be seen above the large French windows, was custom-made by a Quebec artist represented by the agency Noir sur blanc. Its color palette evokes northernness in all its splendor. Pay attention: other works from the same gallery decorate the walls of the residence.
The wow effect is renewed as soon as you enter the kitchen, where the cathedral ceiling and the mezzanine give a masterful dimension to this room. Note the large central island: it is a block of quartz that blends perfectly with the ceramic floor of the same color, while the maple cabinets echo, for their part, the oak floor. Finally, hidden behind the wooden arch on the right, the walk-in style pantry remains open, faithful to the refined codes of Japandi design.
Impossible not to notice these delicate suspensions with golden reflections that unfold from the 14-foot ceiling. Their brilliance is a perfect match for the fittings, whose champagne hue adds an extra touch of distinction to the decor.
Evoking the cozy atmosphere of large hotels, this room is distinguished by a bold design. The centerpiece, a custom-made headboard signed by Atelier C3 Design in maple, incorporates airy bedside tables and decorative posts that structure the space with elegance. Behind this module, a hidden passage leads to the walk-in closet and then to the bathroom, while in front of the bed, a large French window offers a breathtaking view of Lake Beauport.
Similar to sculptures, the lighting fixtures of the Stone collection exalt the nobility of natural stone. In the background, the decor is enhanced by the works of the agency Noir sur Blanc, creating a visual dialogue of great finesse.
A few words, finally, on the bathroom, worthy of those found in some restaurants or luxury hotels. The decor revolves around a concrete sink, framed by a play of fallout that creates an arch in the same material. The wallpaper with organic patterns offers, meanwhile, an ultimate tribute to nature.
A true ode to tropical showers, this glass space stands in the heart of the bathroom. Glazed on two sides, the shower offers an unobstructed view of the bathtub and surrounding nature. In order not to sacrifice the refinement of the decor, the toilet was placed in a small adjoining room.
The oval concrete Balux bathtub literally steals the show in this bathroom. All the development was designed around this monolith which, once again, offers a view of the lake. Placed on a reinforced podium (given its weight), it can comfortably accommodate two people. Even its sand color was custom-developed. An alcove enriches the perspective, while a play of recessed lights—some on the ground—envelop the space with a felted softness.
From the Marie collection at Baril, it surprises with its two spherical controllers placed on the counter. Enhanced by perfectly dosed LED lighting, this arrangement creates a striking visual impact, true to the wow spirit of the project.
