Training in decoration and interior design: colors, styles and tips from designers
You want to update your knowledge in decoration, prepare a renovation or simply better understand how an atmosphere is built?
Our online course in decoration and interior design brings together the method we apply in our projects at Atelier C3 Design, which takes into account budget, actual maintenance and everyday life.
This course is the most accessible of the three, and undoubtedly the most pleasant to follow. It is as much for someone who refreshes a single room as for someone who wants to understand how to build an atmosphere.

The colors and the painting
We start with the colors and their real effect on us.
Why certain shades whet the appetite and therefore have no place everywhere, why an entirely white room can make you uncomfortable, and how proportions are distributed in a successful room.
We show you the palette that we have custom-developed for Quebec, then we go into concrete painting: the accent wall, how to spot it when entering a room, the cradle ceiling technique to delimit a space without building a wall, the treatment of baseboards and framing, and the choice of the chandelier piece by piece, the one who decides whether your walls will be washable or not.
You will discover:
- The effect of warm and cold colors, and the rooms where each one works
- How to spot and treat an accent wall, and two painting techniques for the whole house
- How to treat baseboards, frames, doors and the ceiling
- Which paint finish to choose depending on the room, and which ones actually wash off
- When a primer is needed, and which existing colors complicate everything
Styles, from yesterday to today
Then comes the turn of styles, those of yesterday as well as those of today.
Not to enclose you in a label, but to give you guidelines, limit the number of materials and create reminders from one end of the room to the other.
You will see the materials and pallets that carry each current, and why some come back after thirty years.
The goal is to better understand the main styles, their materials and their palettes in order to give you a guideline for creating your own decor.

A training course created by Atelier C3 Design
